Alexa Bliss as Circe

Featured in DC Comics, Circe is a frequent enemy of Wonder Woman. The wicked sorceress’ character is based off the Greek mythological character of the same name, who imprisoned Odysseus in Homer’s Odyssey.

Circe is a ruthless character known for her superhuman strength, endurance, reflexes, speed, and resistance to injury. She’s able to overcome her foes by altering their minds, creating illusions, turning them into animals, and taking delight in their humiliation.

There’s only one superstar that comes to mind when reading “takes delight in humiliation”; previous RAW Women’s Champion, Alexa Bliss.

Bliss is smarter than most (she would say all) of the talent that makes up the women’s roster. Her ability to manipulate and create psychological chaos within her enemies makes her a force to reckon with. She can play the part of the victim, but only if it will give her the upper hand with WWE management. Her strongest mental tool, however, is her capability of creating doubt and drama within the minds of those she fights.

It’s by no accident that Bliss held the Raw Women’s Championship title. Bliss is a powerful competitor physically, using her small size, quick reflexes, and long-lasting endurance to crush opponents.

Based primarily on appearance, most fans would argue that Bliss’ gimmick most closely follows Harley Quinn. However, her independence and strategic clear-minded schemes would suggest comparison to a wickedly intelligent and cold-blooded woman. It’s interesting to note that Circe’s appearance changes often within her tenure as a comic book supervillain; her hair and dress never remaining the same. Perhaps WWE could take a cue from the DC Universe, and create a new look for a truly callous Women’s Division heel.
