3 Possible Matches for Finn Balor at WWE Hell in a Cell 2018

3. Bobby Lashley

The return of Bobby Lashley to WWE has been underwhelming to say the least. Having spent years away from the company refining his character work and his in-ring skill set, there were high hopes for the second coming of the Dominator. Unfortunately, the former ECW Champion has been portrayed as a bland babyface despite having all the attributes to be a vicious monster heel.

Missing out on the SummerSlam card would surely have irked Lashley and perhaps we’ll see an alignment shift or a storyline adjustment prior to Hell in a Cell. He’d make an excellent foil for the red hot Balor as a big, arrogant bully of a heel and it might just be the feud to reinvigorate both men. It’d also give Finn another opportunity to call upon the Demon to vanquish such a large threat.

Alternatively, it is entirely plausible that WWE books this match with no tangible storyline purely out of a need to fit both men on the card. We’ve become accustomed to this lazy type of booking and it does nothing to differentiate between the type of throwaway match regularly seen on RAW and the meaningful matches we crave to see on pay-per-view.
