3. Kevin Owens

Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens are extremely familiar opponents. Who can forget their absolute barn-burner of a match at the 2017 Royal Rumble? Owens successfully retained the Universal Championship against Reigns, getting a key assist from Chris Jericho, who was suspended above the ring in a shark cage. Not even a superman punch with brass knuckles, nor a Stone Cold Stunner could keep Reigns down for the three count.

Since then, Reigns has become an even more difficult opponent, whereas Owens hasn’t won a world title. He came close against AJ Styles, but at the 2018 Royal Rumble, he and Sami Zayn lost a handicap match against The Phenomenal One for the WWE Championship.

Previously, Owens traded United States Championship victories with Jericho and Styles before moving onto a bitter feud with Shane McMahon that culminated in a tag team loss at WrestleMania 35 against the returning Daniel Bryan.

As you can see, Owens has been incredibly busy in the time that has passed since his marquee match against Reigns. On Raw, Owens has continued to impress in the ring (check out his Intercontinental Championship match against Seth Rollins if you haven’t already), doing more to put over Braun Strowman than anyone else this year.

Owens has been one of WWE’s premier sellers and in-ring performers since debuting on the main roster, and while Reigns vs. Owens is an old story, these two still have a few captivating matches to give the audience.
