Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar (WrestleMania 31)

For all intents and purposes, the WrestleMania 31 main event should have been a bust.

Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar had been rumored to be the WWE World Heavyweight Championship clash dating back to SummerSlam 2014. At that point, it made storyline sense for Reigns to be the one to ultimately dethrone The Beast Incarnate as champion.

However, that was before the bad booking of Reigns started to set in. Once he reigned supreme in the 2015 Royal Rumble match, a majority of the WWE Universe had made up their minds that they weren’t going to cheer him and would instead do everything imaginable to hijack the WrestleMania 31 main event.

Days ahead of the pay-per-view, it was revealed Lesnar had re-signed with the organization, fueling rumors that he could actually beat Reigns to retain his title on the grandest stage of them all. That made the match infinitely more unpredictable and entertaining.

Furthermore, the hard-hitting and highly physical style these two worked was such a treat to watch and was way better than fans could have hoped for. Just as it looked like Lesnar had victory in his reach, Seth Rollins successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase in shocking fashion to give us one of the all-time best endings in WrestleMania history.
