1. Charlotte Flair vs. Carmella

The SmackDown Women’s Championship picture has really heated up over the past few weeks after the turn of events at SummerSlam.  Carmella lost her title to Charlotte Flair in a Triple Threat Match also involving Becky Lynch, but the story wasn’t about Carmella losing, it was about Lynch turning on Charlotte after the match.

The bitterness of The Irish Lass Kicker has been on full display since she feels Charlotte stole her moment at SummerSlam.  But The Queen couldn’t worry about Lynch last night because she had to defend her title against Carmella in the main event of last night’s show.  Could The Princess Of Staten Island regain her title?  She was quite impressive in trying to accomplish that feat.

This was a very solid match that saw Carmella look as good as she has looked in the ring maybe all year long.  Her improvement continues to shine through and she has even been booked to look more strong in matches like these.  The frustration began to sink in, however, and that helped Charlotte turn the tide back in her favor, eventually making Carmella tap out to the figure eight.

But just when Charlotte thought her night was over, Lynch had other ideas and attacked her from behind.  Her intentions were crystal clear from the start and she said she will take Charlotte’s title at Hell In A Cell before making things even more personal with a choice word thrown at The Queen.  Overall, the match between Charlotte and Carmella was very solid, but the post-match shenanigans were impressive in their own right.

Lynch will be looking to dethrone her former best friend at Hell In A Cell and last night was crucial in her development as a heel.
