CHIKARA King of Trios: A Guide to Who’s Who in 2018 Tournament

Ancient Order of the Nations
Members: Mick Moretti, Jack Bonza, and Adam Hoffman
Who? A trio of grapplers from Australia. Moretti is likely the most well known of the group, as the Rapscallion has briefly appeared with Impact Wrestling. He’s also made a handful of appearances with CHIKARA already over the past year. Bonza and Hoffman, as well as Moretti, are veterans of the Australasian Wrestling Federation.
Xyberhawx Techno Union
Members: Razerhawk, Nytehawk, and Danjerhawk
Who? The Xyberhawx 2000 were initially comprised of Razerhawk, Nytehawk, and Sylverhawk. Apparently in the year 2000, spelling wasn’t a big focus. They’re a bunch of possibly robotic birds run by “Mission Control.” Oh, and they think it’s the dawn of the new millennium, so things like iPhones confuse them. Sylverhawk has been possibly permanently “powered down,” and was replaced by Young Lions Cup Champion Danjerhawk. Lots of high flying lucha action from these three, and de facto captain Razerhawk is the most energetic being visiting planet Earth.
Dark Lords of the Proteus
Members: Volgar, Callux the Casitgator, and Frantik
Who? In classic CHIKARA tradition, there’s really no easy way to explain these guys without going through at least half a decade’s worth of storylines. The TL;DR version: Professor Nicodemus is a mad scientist who may or may not have been involved with the business entity that was responsible for shutting CHIKARA down in 2013, and these three are his most recent “creations.” Volgar recently appeared in the CHIKARA showcase match at Beyond Americanrana ’18 and opened a bunch of eyes. Callux is a big monster, and Frantik is a lunatic.
The ResistANTce
Members: Fire Ant, Green Ant, and Thief Ant
Who? The most recent incarnation of a CHIKARA staple, The Colony. Fire Ant is possibly the best wrestler on the planet that you haven’t heard of, but he’s been out of sorts since his original partners — Silver Ant, Soldier Ant, and Worker Ant — were forced to retire due to injuries at the hands of the evil forces in CHIKARA. Green Ant and Thief Ant took up the mantle of The Colony, initially running afoul of Fire before he came to his senses and joined up with them. The Colony and F.I.S.T. are longtime foes, so look for a battle between them at some point during the weekend.
