Kota Ibushi Faces Off Against His Biggest Rival: Overseas Travel

It’s said there are three certainties in life: death, taxes, and Kota Ibushi getting catastrophically lost every time he travels abroad.

The greatest ongoing storyline in pro-wrestling thrilled fans with its latest instalment as Ibushi, travelling to appear at ALL IN, tweeted (somewhat optimistically) that he was “going to Chicago! Nothing will happen this time.

Fans held their collective breath.

Could this finally be the day that Ibushi might best his greatest rival – overseas travel?

The answer, it transpired, was no.  Hours later, the next development in the Lost Ibushi saga was revealed: “I made a mistake” he tweeted. He went on to explain that he had lost everything except for his passport, his ring gear, and some loose change. His wallet had also disappeared. Unsurprisingly, this made for an unhappy Kota Ibushi: “I wish this is over soon”, he tweeted, regarding the loss of his wallet.

Ibushi’s storied history of international travel shenanigans is well documented. In May, he accidentally ended up in Washington whilst travelling to a CEO event being held in Orlando – Chris Charlton reported that he’d ‘screwed up his connecting flight:’

Ibushi’s apparent inability to go anywhere without getting into trouble is not limited to international travel. Also in May, he managed to leave his phone in his hotel room, was unable to remember the name of the hotel, and ended up walking the streets all night.

Following Ibushi’s eventful arrival in Chicago, concerned fans tweeted his partner, Kenny Omega, whose exasperated response suggested this was not the first time he has had to help Ibushi out of trouble:

Fortunately, this latest instalment of the Ibushi/Travel feud had a happy ending. Kenny Omega was on hand to deliver Ibushi safely to his hotel – and also managed to locate his missing wallet, as he recounted to a relieved crowd at Starrcast. Omega also noted Ibushi’s inexplicable habit of informing social media of his travel woes instead of taking practical action – like calling Omega to ask for help.

Tonight at ALL IN, Kota Ibushi joins forced with the Young Bucks to take on the team of Rey Mysterio, Rey Fenix and Bandido in what promises to be a fantastic match. In the meantime, we mere mortals can rest assured that while he may be a ridiculously attractive pro-wrestling prodigy, the reliability with which Kota Ibushi gets horribly lost going just about anywhere proves that truly, nobody is perfect.
