Again it must be emphasized if 205 Live is going to be successful it can’t be viewed as a curse to be on the roster. In other words many will think Gargano is above the cruiserweight division. Truth be told, he is. So are the rest of the guys on this list.
However, it is not about that. it is about being placed in situations that maximize the talent. The other harsh truth is that on Raw and Smackdown Johnny Wrestling would be the typical underdog. He would lose more than he wins and end up in temporary tag teams. On 205 Live he can be a real star.
Let’s not forget that the underdog bursted onto the scene in the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament. Gargano is one the few babyfaces that is universally loved. People can relate to the undersized man who has been told no all his life. His matches are fun to watch and he is an excellent storyteller. Heels like The Brian Kendrick and Hideo Itami would shine battling him.
Cedric Alexander has been a tremendous Cruiserweight Champion. Nonetheless Gargano would be a great fit to carry the title. He certainly possesses Daniel Bryan-esque qualities. A champion that fans can passionalty root for every week gives 205 Live a real boost.
