WWE Hell in a Cell 2018: Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch Official
By Bryan Heaton
On Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, Charlotte Flair accepted Becky Lynch’s challenge for a championship match. It’ll go down on September 16 at WWE Hell in a Cell 2018.
For weeks now, Becky Lynch has been a woman possessed. The target of her wrath has been former best friend Charlotte Flair. And now it looks like WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 will be the place they do battle.
During Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, Becky threw out a challenge to Charlotte — put the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against me. The Queen answered in the affirmative, and it didn’t take long for General Manager Paige to make it official for the pay per view.
It’s been a long time coming, with tensions boiling over at SummerSlam in Brooklyn a few weeks ago. Becky finally had enough of her supposed friend stealing her spotlight, which has set off several weeks of aggression against the champion.
One can make the argument that Charlotte has done nothing wrong: She made a return to SmackDown, was granted a title match, and was the better competitor at SummerSlam. So why is Becky so mad that The Queen one-upped her?

On the other hand, Becky has spent the last several months working her way back into title contention. You can best believe that if she missed a few weeks or months, she wouldn’t be handed a title match immediately. So imagine her frustration at watching her friend take the glory she herself had worked so hard to get.
Last week, Becky went on the offensive again, ambushing Charlotte from behind and sending the whole thing spiraling even further into chaos. The two superstars were set up for an exclusive interview this week on SmackDown, and that’s where Becky threw down the gauntlet to get her well-deserved title match.
It’s the latest in a long line of high quality matches to be added to the WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 card. It won’t take place inside the cell, but there’s enough matches already going on in there. Let Becky and Charlotte have a straight up match first before getting cute with stipulations.
