The Miz with Maryse vs. R-Truth with Carmella

Now this is the match we’ve been waiting for! The main event of SmackDown Live, featuring two former tag team partners fighting it out, as The Miz will take on R-Truth. After weeks of trying, Truth was finally able to catch up to Carmella, and he somehow convinced her to help him out against the power couple of Miz and Maryse.

The Miz says that he is sick of chasing Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella around Detroit, adding that he will drop them faster than defenses will drop Matthew Stafford. Miz tries to call Bryan and Brie out again, but Maryse says that it’s no use, they won’t come out because they are too afraid.

Miz adds that Bryan isn’t a man for letting Brie fight his battles for him. He yells, “Who’s the coward now?” The crowd shouts “You are!” at Miz. On top of that, Miz says that he’s disgusted with Bryan for dragging Brie into this, stating that he doesn’t care about his family by risking Brie’s career in all of this.

Truth and Carmella enter the ring, with Mella yelling “What’s up?” to Truth’s sick rap for Detroit. That was an iconic entrance.

This match between Truth and Miz really brought back some memories.

But the big talking point has to be The Miz moonwalking right in Carmella’s face. You done messed up, Mike! You done messed up!

Miz chopped Truth’s knee and went for the Figure Four, but R-Truth nearly pinned him by countering the submission into a roll-up for two.

But just as Miz was setting up for the Skull Crushing Finale, Bryan and Brie made the perfect entrance, costing Miz the match.

R-Truth just beat the Miz, and Bryan starts punching the hell out of Miz before trapping him in the YES! Lock.

Meanwhile, Maryse tried to run away from Brie Bella before getting rolled into the ring. Brie tried to hit Maryse with a knee, but a wild Zelina Vega appeared to beat Brie up. Andrade Almas came after Bryan, too.

But the babyfaces got their moment of triumph, trapping Almas and Vega with dual YES! Locks as Miz and Maryse watched from the ramp to close the show. Miz thought about intervening, but he dove on the ground when Bryan and Brie stood tall.

Grade: EXCELLENT, Truth and Miz were solid, Carmella was entertaining, and everything that transpired after Bryan and Brie re-emerged was tremendous.
