WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 Predictions: It’s Samoa Joe’s Time

This incredibly personal rivalry match between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe has not been announced as a Hell in a Cell match, but I would honestly be surprise if that didn’t change on SmackDown Live this week. If any match on this card belongs inside the cell, it’s this one.

Joe has tormented Styles and his family for weeks, claiming that Styles does not care about his wife and daughter. He’s went as far as to call Wendy Styles on the phone, openly address AJ’s daughter after passing out The Phenomenal One in the Coquina Clutch, and threatening to break into Styles’s home.

There’s just so much to unpack here, and even though it seems like Joe needs to lose after taking it this far, I also believe Joe needs a WWE Championship win so that his actions are validated. Joe makes everything feel vividly real, and the urgency in his voice and actions is so impressive.

Styles can overcome Joe and have his triumphant climb by winning the title back from Joe at a later date. That would give Joe the legitimacy of winning the WWE Championship by defeating a long-reigning title-holder, but Styles would eventually get that win back before embarking on potential programs with Randy Orton or The Miz on a heel-heavy SmackDown Live.
