AJ Styles Comes to Work Early
WWE billed this as “AJ Styles gets candid,” but it was really “AJ Styles sits in an empty building and vents.” I don’t know how candid that is, but hey, you promote how you gotta promote.
Styles went through everything that he’s gone through since SummerSlam — seeing his family brought into the feud with Samoa Joe the predominant theme. The WWE Champion drops the fact that Joe has a family, too — but he makes it seem like it should be a surprise. Hey, just because a guy doesn’t bring his personal life into his place of business doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a personal life at all.
But Styles says that he’s got integrity, so he won’t do to Joe’s family what’s been done to his. AJ plans on taking care of business in the ring, because that’s what a man of integrity does. He reminds everyone that this is the House that AJ Styles Built — but adds it’s not for rent or sale.
Powerful stuff from the champ, but commentary mentions that later in the show, Samoa Joe will have a special message “for the entire Styles family.” Uh oh.
Charlotte Flair Gets Pumped
Before heading to the ring for her match with Sonya Deville, Charlotte speaks with Kayla Braxton backstage. She says she hopes Becky Lynch is watching this match, because she does her talking in the ring, and the champ wants her former friend to know what she’s in for at Hell in a Cell.
