2. Andrade Cien Almas vs. R-Truth

Not many probably saw a career resurgence of sorts in line for R-Truth in 2018, but that’s where things stand at the moment.  Truth has been on a roll lately with hilarious backstage promos and character work leading to a main event win over The Miz last week on SmackDown.

Truth was back in action last night against an opponent he has never faced before, Andrade Cien Almas.  Both men have been on a roll lately, but Almas has proved he has legit main event talent in recent months battling it out with the likes of AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Rusev, and others.  Almas has been a great dream match type of opponent lately for a variety of superstars.

While Truth vs. Almas might not be considered a dream match, it was still a very enjoyable match.  It was a very short match all things considered, but it packed a big punch.  There was a lot of up-tempo offense wrapped up in a short match, but the managers on the outside would play a big role.  Zelina Vega tried interfering on Almas’ behalf, but Carmella stopped her dead in her tracks by throwing her off the apron.

That momentary hesitation, however, was enough for Almas to roll-up Truth, hold his tights, and get the cheap win. This match will likely happen again, and it could even lead to a mixed tag team match sometime in the near future, but for a match that didn’t get much time to shine, it shined to the best of its ability given the circumstances.

R-Truth is back to a relevant position again and a potential feud with Almas could work out tremendously.
