Impact Wrestling: Everyone In Tag Match Has Top Star Potential
Brian Cage
If you ask me, most of the wrestlers who represent the “future” of Impact Wrestling are in the Knockouts Division. So I’m talking about wrestlers like Tessa Blanchard, Allie, Su Yung, and even Kiera Hogan.
Among the male talent, though, Brian Cage stands out head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to future stars.
Cage is unreal, point blank. That’s the best way I can describe him in one word, and I honestly didn’t realize how special of an athlete he was until his matches with Bobby Lashley earlier this year. (That match, by the way, has over 1 million views on YouTube to date).
He and Lashley pulled out moves that I didn’t think were physically possible, and Cage’s in-ring arsenal seems to defy basic laws of science. Whenever Don Callis puts him over on commentary, it honestly isn’t hyperbole, because Cage truly does make you sit there and contemplate just what an athlete in the squared circle is capable of.
Beyond that, Cage has everything you want in a top guy. You can tell he works his ass off, and it’s about more than just the training that goes into being as strong and physically impressive as he is. Cage is always promoting himself on social media, talking to fans, and increasing the value of his brand. He makes his opponents look like a million bucks, so even though you know he’s going to win a match, you also know that you will learn a lot more about the other guy in the ring.
Furthermore, Cage tours the world rigorously, producing excellent work for a number of wrestling promotions. There’s never a time where I’ve watched a Cage match and have been disappointed, and with every thunderous “Terminator Clap”, you can tell that Cage is one of the main attractions on any show he’s in. No matter the opponent (woman, cruiserweight, monster), Cage brings his “A” game.
How can you not want that guy as one of your top stars?
