1. Teased Dissension Among The Shield Is Something To Keep In Mind For The Future
The Shield’s return the night after SummerSlam a month or so ago has taken center stage on Monday nights. The Hounds Of Justice have new enemies in Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre, but are there now cracks in the foundation of The Shield after last night’s developments?
Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose opened up the show last night and would be interrupted by their newfound enemies. Things would quickly turn into an attempt to create dissension when Ziggler insinuated that Reigns and Rollins don’t care about Ambrose. He said The Shield needs Ambrose, but Ambrose doesn’t need The Shield.
Ziggler also said he doubts Reigns and Rollins even talked to Ambrose after his nine-month injury hiatus and he mentioned how Reigns and Rollins both have titles, but Ambrose doesn’t have anything to show for his work in The Shield. This was a big tease that The Lunatic Fringe could potentially turn his back on his Shield brothers, but Rollins turned the tables backstage when he insinuated to McIntyre that Ziggler is just using him.
Acting GM Baron Corbin teamed up with The Authors Of Pain to battle The Shield in the main event, and The Hounds Of Justice stayed on the same page and got the win in a memorable main-event match. Strowman, Ziggler, and McIntyre stood on the ramp and it was teased that Ambrose might walk away from The Shield, but he entered the ring stood alongside Reigns and Rollins in unity.
The Shield is as strong as ever, but keep that teased dissension in mind for the future because an Ambrose heel turn could happen at some point.
