1. WWE Championship Contract Signing

No feud in the WWE has been as bitter and personal as the feud between AJ Styles and Samoa Joe over the past couple of months.  Joe has his sights set on capturing the WWE Championship, but he has taken an ultra-personal approach in order to obtain it and get in the head of Styles.

The Phenomenal One’s family has been the target and it has led to some tense moments between Styles and Joe.  After a controversial finish at Hell In A Cell, the two will have a rematch at Super Show-Down in a no disqualification, no count-out match with the WWE Championship on the line and there must be a winner.  Last night, however, saw the biggest moment in this feud so far.

With Styles in the ring alongside GM Paige, the contract was set to be signed by both men for their upcoming match.  However, when Joe was supposed to come out, he failed to.  Styles just assumed he was going to jump him from behind, but Joe’s face would show up on the screen in a live video.  The Samoan Submission Machine wasn’t even in Denver that night, he was outside of Styles’ family house.

This sent Styles from a furious state to a worried and nervous state as Joe walked slowly up to the front door of his house.  He cut a menacing promo as Styles begged Joe not to go in his house, but the mind games continued.  It all ended when Joe rang the doorbell and uttered the words “Daddy’s home” before the show went off the air.  This was an absolutely phenomenal segment that is not only probably the best segment of the year, but one of the best segments the WWE has produced in a long time.

This felt like an old-school Attitude Era-caliber segment and it was executed perfectly, especially by one of the greatest heels the WWE has seen in years.
