Let’s face it: Sonya Deville has been 100% overdue for her spot in the title picture since she became a regular on NXT. A fast learner and an aggressive brawler with MMA roots, Deville’s rise in WWE from losing Tough Enough to finding herself on the main roster in the space of two years is a testament to her work ethic and skill.

With Becky leaning into her new found aggression, it would totally make sense that Sonya would step up and challenge that. Because no one on this roster is aggressive as her, dangit! Of course, Becky would want nothing more to put her into her place and it would lead to an all out mat based brawl. Maybe it would even include some clever and biting quips paralleling Becky and Sonya with their blonde bombshell friends that get more attention than them and Becky trying to convince her that you can’t win championships if you’re not willing to strike out on your own.

And win or lose, it would be a special moment for Deville: she would be the first out lesbian to challenge for a women’s title in WWE if she did. And she could be the first out lesbian to win it.
