IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship
Juice is the best. Cody’s the best. This is going to be great. Yeah, their match at Wrestle Kingdom 11 was completely mediocre, but it’s 2018 now. Both guys have come a loooonnnggg long way in the last two years, and expecting anything less than a show stealing effort from either guy would be underselling the consistent greatness of their recent work. Cody’s royal presence and character work demands attention and appreciation more than just about any wrestler on Earth right now, and Juice is easily one of the greatest storytellers in the business. As long as both guys let their larger than life personalities drive the match, we’re in for a classic.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Cody were to leave Long Beach with the IWGP US Championship. He’s a huge name, and I can see how it would be beneficial to the value of the title and NJPW as a whole. However, Juice is on a roll, and I just think it’s far too early for him to drop the belt.

Special Tag Match: The Golden Lovers vs Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii
This match is extremely random and feels kind of thrown together and meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but it’s going to be absolutely incredible, so who really cares? These are four of the best, and I have little doubt that they’re going to leave it all in the ring to deliver a main event worthy match for the company’s fourth ever show in the United States. Perhaps more interesting than the match itself, though, is the potential for a big story moment afterwards.

Ibushi could go back on his word and officially lay down a challenge to his Golden Lover for a IWGP Heavyweight Championship match. Yano could come out and close the show with a fun segment to set up himself vs Omega at KOPW. Ishii could turn on Okada and align himself with Jay White and Gedo. The possibilities are truly endless.
