4. Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

They’ve got matching ring gear, you guys. How much more ‘best friends’ can you get?

Mandy and Sonya were initially brought together by Paige, who formed the Absolution stable with the intention of taking RAW by storm. And although Paige has sadly since retired, Mandy and Sonya have stuck together.

The two were trainees together on WWE’s ‘Tough Enough’, and much like Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, their friendship extends beyond the WWE ring – they’re real-life best friends and roommates to boot.

They’ve even got their own YouTube show – ‘Damandyz Donuts‘ (a wince-inducing pun that would make Becky Lynch proud) in which the duo travel the world in search of the best glazed donuts, which I’m sure everyone will agree, is a vital service to donut lovers everywhere.

In an industry where genuine female friendships sometimes seem in short supply, it’s refreshing to not only have a female tag team with a solid basis in real camaraderie, but between two very different women – Mandy Rose is (at least on the surface) a bona fide blonde bombshell poured from the Diva mould, while Sonya Deville is a hard-as-nails fighter with a mean streak.

Their superficial differences have never come between them, though, and rather than clash, they complement one another perfectly – just as they appear to in real life. Much like books and covers, you can’t judge a friendship on the superficial.

If ever WWE do get round to announcing women’s tag belts, Mandy and Sonya are surely shoo-ins for a title run in the not-too-distant future.
