1. The New Day

…clap for the #1 Best Wrestling Friendship and feeeeel the powah!

As if long-lasting friendships in wrestling weren’t rare enough, we have in The New Day a trio who routinely espouse the ‘power of positivity’. Even as heels, they’re fun loving and light hearted, and – let’s be honest – it’s impossible to boo them even when the writing dictates that we should.

Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston truly are the most exemplary of BFF’s. For one thing, they’re perfectly comfortable sharing success – they hold and defend their tag team titles under the ‘freebird’ rule, meaning that a victory for two of them is a victory for all. And Big E and Xavier Woods have been frequently vocal about just how much they want Kofi to become a top WWE singles champion – even at the expense of their own success:

The New Day represent a refreshingly different approach to masculinity, and masculine friendships. There is nothing shameful or ridiculous about how close they are, or how much pride they each take in one another’s achievements.

Their friendship is built on a solid foundation of pure support, and it’s a beautiful thing. You might argue that they’ve achieved all there is to achieve as a tag team, and there’s truth in that – but if it ain’t broke, why fix it? There’s no reason these three need to split up in order to enjoy singles success.

With their fifth tag title reign safely under their belt, there’s plenty of life in the old dog yet. And if you don’t believe me, well – ask them yourself.
