The Song Remains The Same

All of the men’s championships on WWE Raw are currently tied up in the same feud. Universal Champion Roman Reigns runs with Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose as The Shield; their main adversaries at the moment are Braun Strowman and Raw Tag Team Champions Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre.

This leads to matches, storylines, and angles that are all too predictable, especially when those six superstars are meeting in a six-man tag at Super Show-Down. We’ve seen each trio stand tall at various moments over the past few weeks. There’s been a tease that Ambrose is going to go full lunatic and turn on his brothers. Even bringing AoP into the mix last week seemed like a whole lot of nothing.

So why should this week be any different? The big story, per WWE, is that The Shield is still a united front, despite the attempt at mind games from their foes. Why not extend this whole “will Ambrose turn” story for another week, and let it fester until Saturday in Melbourne?

Say Ambrose, after losing to Drew McIntyre two weeks ago, gets a match with Dolph Ziggler this week, and he loses again. Meanwhile, Seth Rollins — who beat Ziggler the same night Ambrose was felled by McIntyre — gets a victory over the Scottish Terminator. Wouldn’t that be another bit of evidence that Ambrose is going to snap?

Look, everyone’s been waiting for the Dean turn since he came back before SummerSlam. We’ve gotten a classic Shield run for about a month now, so let’s let Deano go hog wild.
