2. Shelton Benjamin vs. Daniel Bryan

The Miz and Daniel Bryan will continue their feud at Super Show-Down on Saturday with the winner earning a WWE Championship opportunity.  In the meantime, however, The A-Lister wanted someone to soften up The Yes Man in the days leading up to Super Show-Down.

Last night saw The Miz give Shelton Benjamin a pep talk backstage after it was announced Benjamin would battle Bryan in one-on-one action.  Benjamin hadn’t been on TV in a while, but The Miz wanted to get him an opportunity, mainly just to help his cause out.  As expected, this was a very solid match between two great in-ring talents.

The match went back and forth while Miz was on commentary at ringside taking it all in.  He rooted heavily for Benjamin to work on Bryan’s ribs, which he did pretty well.  Things really got going in the end when Miz decided to get involved to no one’s surprise.  He approached the ring apron to distract Bryan before Bryan knocked him off to the outside.  That distraction would pay dividends for Benjamin, however.

Benjamin hit Bryan with Paydirt and got the surprising win.  After the match, The A-Lister attacked Bryan and simply left it by saying Bryan will need luck at Super Show-Down to beat him.  This was the best match of last night and it was nice to see Benjamin back in the fold after months of no direction.  Maybe he will be aligned more with The Miz in the future, who knows.

A lot will be at stake on Saturday, but in terms of just last night, Benjamin vs. Bryan was a very solid match that fans probably wish could have gone longer.

Final Grade: B+
