Penelope Ford Will Face Jazz For The NWA Women’s Championship
Earlier this week, NWA announced that Jazz would defend the NWA Women’s Championship on the 70th Anniversary Show against an unknown opponent. On Sunday, it was announced that Jazz will take on Penelope Ford, who has made quite a name for herself this year.
NWA does an impeccable job of hyping up their title matches. Before losing the NWA Worlds Title to Cody Rhodes at All In, Nick Aldis did an excellent job of making the prestigious, historic championship feel like a huge deal, which made Cody’s eventual victory even sweeter.
The NWA Women’s Championship feels similarly important, because Jazz cut an insanely good promo in preparation for this title defense.
Jazz will defend the NWA Women’s Title on Oct. 21 at the promotion’s 70th Anniversary Show, and she had quite the message for her future opponent. You can watch her promo video below, and if you don’t get chills watching this, then wrestling probably made you a little too jaded over the years.
NWA has announced that Penelope Ford will be the one to challenge the formidable and intimidating Jazz.
Despite not being in a match at “All In”, Ford was one of the show-stealers. She needed just a minute to become one of the standouts of the acclaimed event. Ford was on fire, doing her best to help Joey Janela secure a defining victory over Hangman Page. She hit Page with a stunner, a huge crossbody on the outside, and even brought out “the boots” to psych Page out.
Ford is also an accomplished tag team wrestler with either Janela or Maria Manic. Both Ford and Manic are the WSU Tag Team Champions.
Though Ford is a rising star, she will face an entirely different challenge on Oct. 21 against Jazz, who will do literally anything to remain champion. Ford has fought for the NWA Women’s Championship before, losing to Amber O’Neal in October 2016 at an H20 wrestling show, and it will be exciting to see if she can take Jazz to the limit two years later.
I wonder what Ford’s promo response will be to Jazz, who is the self-proclaimed “baddest b***h” for a reason. But Ford has plenty of strength and fire in her, so this will be a hard-fought match on an incredibly important show for NWA.
