WWE Raw Predictions: Triple H, Shawn Michaels Throw Down Gauntlet
By Bryan Heaton
A Trio of Legends Get Physical
Finally, a pair of Hall of Famers — and a third legend on his way there — are advertised to appear on WWE Raw tonight: Trish Stratus, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H. While Trish has a match coming up against Alexa Bliss at Evolution, The Game and Michaels are nursing their wounds from a whooping Down Under.
WWE is keeping things close to the vest with both of these segments, but it seems pretty straightforward to me as to what’s going to happen. With Trish, I think it’s fairly obvious that she’s going to get attacked by Bliss and her cronies, Mickie James and Alicia Fox. We last saw Trish get verbal with Elias before slapping the taste out of his mouth several weeks ago, but she hasn’t really gotten physical since the Royal Rumble — and before that, it was several years ago.
It seems to me WWE is leaning too hard on the “historic” nature of Evolution as opposed to using actual storylines in the build. But having Bliss get the better of Trish tonight would go a long way to righting that ship.
But when it comes to Triple H and Shawn Michaels, they’ve already had their rear ends handed to them by Undertaker and Kane. So tonight on Raw, they’re being advertised to “respond” to the post-match attack from Super Show-Down. If I was a gambling man, I’d put money on this response turning physical in some way, shape or form.
It’s just a matter of time before Michaels unretires for the second time, and rumors have indicated it will be sooner rather than later. I wouldn’t be surprised if Taker (and possibly Kane, unless he had mayoral duties to attend to) flew into Chicago with the rest of the Raw roster after the weekend in Australia.
Say Michaels and Triple H get a little too mouthy in their “response” — Taker could come down to silence them, and all hell could break loose yet again… until a match is made official for Crown Jewel. Whether it’s a tag match pitting DX against Taker and Kane, or a Michaels singles match against The Dead Man, another brawl is going to happen until it’s booked.
What do you think will happen on this week’s episode of WWE Raw?
