MLW Is Growing – Does It Need A Women’s Division Next?
The first name on anybody’s list, especially if intergender wrestling is thrown into the mix, has got to be Jordynne Grace. Since 2012, Grace has been building her name and reputation across the independents. Grace has found herself in the ring with men and women since early in her career, so mixing it up with everybody on the MLW roster would come naturally to her.
Grace would bring a lot more to the table than meets the eye for the casual viewer. At first glance, “Thick Momma Pump” could be mistaken for your run of the mill powerhouse keen on doing little more than showcasing her strength by lifting and throwing her smaller opponents around the ring – but Grace is anything but run of the mill. She can mix strength, speed, grappling and agility like few others, making her a wrestler hard to match on several levels.
Stemming from All In in September, Grace may be on the biggest upswing of her career. She held her own against Brian Cage in the All Out Battle Royal and while she didn’t come away with the win (and we’re totally unbiased here), she proved to the 10,000+ in attendance and everybody watching at home that she can stand toe to toe with the biggest and the baddest.
Grace looked to be poised to capture the Powerbomb.TV Independent Wrestling Championship from “Hot Sauce” Tracy Williams at a recent NOVA Pro event but the match was cut short due to a gruesome-looking ankle sprain as both wrestlers came leaping off of the ropes. Grace toughed it out to get back in the ring just over a week later for Pro Wrestling: EVE picking up a pair of wins in a single day.
At the end of this month, Grace will step into the ring with the legendary Jazz for Women’s Wrestling Revolution, giving her name an additional boost. It was recently announced that Jazz will be defending the NWA World’s Women’s Championship at NWA 70 on October 21. Can Grace put a hitch in the giddy-up for Jazz as she looks to reestablish herself on a national level?
