The New Day vs The Usos vs Lucha Dragons – TLC 2015
The Attitude Era’s tag team division was defined by the rivalry between The Hardy Boyz, The Dudley Boyz, and Edge & Christian. While the feud between The Lucha Dragons, The Usos, and WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day would not achieve the same impact, WWE tried to duplicate the aforementioned feud with modern eyes by putting these three teams in a match that the Attitude Era tag teams made famous: The Ladder Match.
The match is best remembered for Kalisto pulling off a Salida del Sol off a ladder through another ladder, but the match has more to offer than that. For a match that has been done to death in WWE over the course of three decades, don’t expect too much innovation from this match, but that doesn’t mean that these three teams did not try their best to keep the match excited all the way through.
In the end, Kalisto was inches away from winning the titles with Sin Cara. That is, until Xavier Woods – who had been on commentary up until this point while Big E and Kofi Kingston wrestled in the ring – hopped out of his seat and taking advantage of the No DQ stipulation, threw his trombone at Kalisto, knocking the luchador off the ladder. This allowed Kofi Kingston to climb up and retrieve his titles for the retain.
