4. Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs Sheamus & Cesaro – No Mercy 2017
At SummerSlam 2017, former rivals and Shield mates Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose reconciled after years apart to dethrone The Bar of their WWE Tag Team Championships. Many critics hailed the title match as the best match of the night, and the two duos were able to duplicate similar success in their rematch a month later at No Mercy.
Somehow, they found a way to not only top the match that they had previously, but on a card which included John Cena vs Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman vs Brock Lesnar, the WWE Tag Team Title match stole the show.
As most wrestlers tend to – and honestly should – strive for with any rematch is to go bigger and better than the last match, and oh boy, did these two teams do just that. One big thing that made this bout such a memorable one was a gnarly spot where after eating – no pun intended – a toss into the turnbuckle, Cesaro’s front teeth got legitimately pushed into his gums.
The image of Cesaro’s – what many thought at the time to be missing – teeth and blood trickling from his mouth helped make this match a compelling one to watch, and gave us some long lasting imagery that we won’t soon forget.
At the same time, both teams pulled off some incredible tag team offense that kept our eyes glued to the ring until the very end.
