NJPW Super Jr Tag League Night 1 Review and Results
Hiroshi Tanahashi, Togi Makabe, & Tomoaki Honma vs Kota Ibushi, Yujiro Takahashi, & Chase Owens
Ibushi and Tana start the match. LETS GO. Ibushi lays in the first strike during a rope break and the Ace isn’t happy about it. He runs the ropes and lays into Ibushi who springs right back up. Tags to Owens and Honma. Chase gets ahead but Honmania runs wild as the veteran fires back.
Kokeshi attempt but Takahashi stops it and nails Honma with his cane thing. Ibushi’s getting impatient and tags back in. He lays in kicks as Honma asks for more. Tanahashi makes the save, and Yujiro’s in. A bit of offense and another quick tag to Owens. He looks for the package piledriver but can’t quite get it. Another tag and Honma’s in deep.
Eventually he rallies and is able to tag out to Makabe who dominates for a while. Yujiro gets free with some sneaky style and Ibushi’s in. Ibushi does Ibushi things until Makabe is able to land a big lariat. Tag to the Tana. Somersault senton. Kicks. Slaps.
Tag to Owens. Shining wizard and Owens thinks he has the Ace beat (what a fool). GBH rush the ring and the match breaks down. After some chaos and brawling, Honma is able to hit the Kokeshi on Owens. The High Fly Flow follows and that’s all she wrote.
This was okay. The tags and action came fast. I enjoyed the Ibushi/Tanahashi stuff and the angle of Ibushi getting fed up with the shenanigans of Yujiro and Owens, but other than that, nothing too special.
