NJPW Super Jr Tag League Night 1 Review and Results

Ryusuke Taguchi & ACH vs Volador Jr. & Soberano Jr.
ACH and Volador start things off. They fly through a great sequence and the crowd is into it. ACH rocks his opponent with his funky weapon, and Taguchi is in to direct some forever clotheslines. Soberano gets taken out at ringside as Taguchi works over his partner.
Last year’s runner ups trade tags and keep Volador isolated until he is able to reverse a hip attack and get the tag. Taguchi’s up on Volador’s shoulders and Soberano hits a high flying crossbody. The tornillo gets a near fall, and they trade atomic drops.
ACH and Volador back in. The former runs the ropes and gets caught with an absolutely brutal looking superkick. ACH fights back with a leg sweep and double stomp. Both teams go for tag team offense, but it breaks down. Soberano takes out Taguchi as ACH hits a deadlift german and goes top rope. Volador follows and rocks him with an enziguri. Super Frankensteiner. 1 2 3.
Woof. This was fast and hard hitting. It was tough to keep up with it all, which is probably exactly what they were going for. I definitely would’ve liked a few more minutes and a false finish or two for ACH and Taguchi, but they made the most of their time and delivered a fun sprint.
