1. More Consistency Needed In Dean Ambrose Saga With The Shield
The top storyline on Monday nights has been between The Shield and Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre for nearly two months now. To say this angle has dominated TV time on Raw would be an understatement and many fans are not behind it.
The WWE doesn’t make it easy to get invested in this storyline when their booking becomes so lazy and inconsistent. That especially rings true involving Dean Ambrose’s state of mind involving his Shield brothers Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. Over the past few weeks, Ambrose has been teased as potentially leaving The Shield over and over again.
That trend continued last night when Ambrose was still upset with last week’s loss. He helped Rollins defeat McIntyre in a World Cup qualifying match, but he felt Rollins and Reigns take him as nothing more than a joke and someone to bail them out of tough situations. The tension continued later in the night when a bit of miscommunication between Rollins and Ambrose cost The Lunatic Fringe his match against Ziggler.
Acting GM Baron Corbin capitalized on the tension by booking The Shield vs. Strowman, Ziggler, and McIntyre in the main event last night. This being the third time this match has taken place in nine days aside, The Shield was able to overcome the tension and get the win while appearing on the same page after the match. It makes no sense what the WWE is doing with this feud, especially Ambrose’s involvement.
One minute he’s with them and one minute he’s against them, and this inconsistency with The Lunatic Fringe has to end with him either being with them completely or him finally turning on them once and for all.
