The fifth episode of WWE Mixed Match Challenge Season 2 was live from Washington DC on Tuesday night following Smackdown 1000. Bobby Roode made his Team Pawz debut against Country Dominance and Ravishing Rusev Day looked to right the ship against last season’s champions Team Awe-ska…

Mickie James & Bobby vs Natalya and other Bobby

Roode and Lashley start off. The crowd chants “let’s go Bobby”, and the Bobbys argue over who they’re cheering for. Natalya puts her cat ears on Lashley for some reason. He takes them off and turns to stomp on them. Roode takes advantage and gets a roll-up near fall. Tag to Natalya and Mickie joins her. Natty gains the advantage and goes for the sharpshooter but James gets a rope break. Natty turns to tag in Roode, but Mickie blindsides her. They continue to go back and forth and end up taking each other out with double crossbodys.

Tags to Bobby and Bobby. Roode goes for clotheslines but Lashley isn’t phased. He goes for a clothesline of his own but Roode counters and hits the blockbuster. Glorious DDT attempt, but Lashley’s too strong. He sets up for the spear. Roode dodges and fires up as Mickie rushes the ring. Natty meets her and stereo sharpshooters are locked in. Lio distracts and Lashley goes for the delayed vertical suplex, but Roode gets free and looks for the DDT again. Lashley overpowers him once more and the

spear ends it.

Country Dominance def Team Pawz

I’m so sad. Natty and KO were the best together. Roode was fine here, but it’s just not the same:( Anyways, the match itself was okay. Roode and Lashley had a good exchange down the stretch, and the wrestling was fine throughout, but everything felt a bit lifeless up until the finish. Bobby and Mickie seem to be stepping up as the big serious heel team of the tournament, so I doubt many of their matches will be too heavy on the silliness I want out of the MMC.
