Miz & Asuka vs Rusev & Lana

”Rusev Day” chants as Lana and Asuka begin They play friendly but Asuka lands a kick out of nowhere. Lana fights back and Miz tries to get involved. Rusev tells him to “be a nice boy” and go back to his corner. “Lana is the best. Lana’s number one.” chant and Miz is upset cause he thinks he’s actually the best. Rusev and Lana kiss and try to get Miz and Asuka to follow suit. Of course that doesn’t happen, and we’re back to the wrestling.

Asuka grounds Lana but she gets free and is able to make the tag to Rusev. Big spin kick, and he sets up for the Machka Kick. Miz reverses it and looks for the Skull Crushing Finale. Rusev escapes, but Miz chop blocks him and makes the tag to Asuka. Lana fights hard but Miz does his best Aiden English impersonation to distract her. Rusev shuts him up and Lana puts the Accolade on the A-Lister, then follows with a sit out facebuster to Asuka. Miz recovers, makes the save, and gets in Lana’s face. She slaps him as Asuka catches her from behind with the Asuka Lock.

Team Awe-ska def Ravishing Rusev Day

I enjoyed this while it lasted. The stuff at the beginning with all the crowd interaction was great, and the wrestling itself was solid, though there wasn’t much of it. I thought there was potential for this to be one of the better matches of the MMC, but it just didn’t go on long enough to really get going. Still, it was a fun little match.

Rating: **1/2

In conclusion, this was easily the weakest episode yet of Mixed Match Challenge Season 2. Mickie Bobby vs Team Pawz desperately needed more Kevin Owens and Ravishing Rusev Day vs Awe-ska was good, but far too short.

Show Rating: 5/10
