3. The Cutting Edge

Not many superstars defined the blue brand more than Edge during the mid-2000’s and into the early-2010’s.  The Rated-R Superstar was one of the many past legends in the house last night for SmackDown 1000 and he brought back his famous talk show for the occasion.

Edge hosted an episode of The Cutting Edge last night with special guests Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, so needless to say, fireworks were going to be present with these two bitter enemies.  It started out with Edge calling Lynch down to the ring first and the SmackDown Women’s Champion would have quite a bit to say.

The Rated-R Superstar said he sees a lot of himself in Lynch and compared how they both had to scratch and claw to reach the level they reached.  However, it all changed when he said he doesn’t think Lynch is doing the right thing in how she has turned on Charlotte.  That wouldn’t sit well with The Irish Lass Kicker and she responded as only she could.

She said she doesn’t like herself… she loves herself, and she told Edge to leave her ring before warning him to not hurt his neck again while stepping through the ropes.  The Queen had heard enough and she came out to address Lynch before the two would begin to brawl in the ring as security had to break them up.  This was a memorable segment and having Lynch and Charlotte as the primary guests made a lot of sense for their feud.

This was a welcomed addition to SmackDown 1000 and seeing Edge with the two top women on the blue brand’s roster was great.

Final Grade: B+
