1. Rey Mysterio vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

When Rey Mysterio returned during the Royal Rumble match earlier this year, fans were excited to see him back in the WWE.  Rumors have been calling for his return to the WWE with some of those rumors saying he has signed a deal with the WWE.

His status with the company remains to be seen, but for SmackDown 1000, he was back inside the squared circle for a huge dream match against current United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura.  The winner of the match would be the final person to qualify for the World Cup at Crown Jewel in under three weeks.

A match of this magnitude had to main event the show and it did just that.  These two broke out a lot of stuff in this match and it was great to see the chemistry between two elite competitors in their first-ever match in the WWE.  Most fans expected it to go on longer, but for Mysterio’s first singles match in the WWE in a few years, it did everything it needed to do.

After a big 619 and splashdown finish, Mysterio pinned Nakamura to get the win and qualify for the World Cup.  If he is back in the WWE for the foreseeable future, it will be fantastic to see who Mysterio can tangle with.  The dream matches are pretty endless no matter which brand he ends up on and even in his 40’s, Mysterio has a lot left in the tank to show the WWE universe.

The Master Of The 619 dialed it up one more time last night on SmackDown 1000 and it was very enjoyable to see.
