WWE NXT: Ranking Every Performer to Hold the NXT Championship

5. Bo Dallas
If you’ve only seen Bo Dallas’ work as a member of the main roster, you could be forgiven for being shocked as to how he could rank so highly on a list such as this. But, as the third NXT Champion, Bo Dallas managed to be one of the very most entertaining parts of the show each and every week.
Initially rejected by NXT’s hardcore fanbase as nothing but a generic, smiling, white meat babyface, Dallas twisted his obnoxious happy-go-lucky attitude from sincere to oblivious.
Dallas pulled off the character of a villain who genuinely believed himself to be the hero so convincingly that his Rocky Maivia style “go away heat” was promptly transformed into genuine appreciation for his work as a heel, illustrating the stark contrast between the responses to crowd opinion in NXT as opposed to the main roster.
During Dallas’ then-unprecedented 280 day long reign as NXT Champion, he managed victories over such fan favorites as Sami Zayn, Antonio Cesaro, and Adrian Neville, before the latter finally managed to capture the title in a ladder match at NXT ArRival.
As great as it was to see Neville reach the pinnacle of NXT, it was a shame that it had to mean the end of such a fun reign. In spite of his lack of success on the main roster, Bo Dallas is absolutely one of the best NXT Champions of all time.
