El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs Ryusuke Taguchi & ACH
Despy and Kanemaru attack Taguchi and ACH during their entrance cause they’re evil, villainous, bad guys. They do some NSFDailyDDT stuff to Taguchi’s Funky Weapon and drag them into the ring. Super 69 fights back and ACH conducts the Taguchi Train on Kanemaru, only for it to be reversed. The heels continue to dominate for the next 5+ minutes until Taguchi is able to hit a desperation enziguri and get an ACH hot tag.
ACH does ACH things and completely shifts the match’s momentum. Taguchi is able recover and gets back in the match. He goes for the Bummer Ye, but it isn’t happening. Tag team offense from Suzuki-Gun, and Kanemaru goes up for the Deep Impact, but Taguchi catches him with the hip attack on the way down.
Assisted dodon, but Despy makes the save. Kanemaru goes for the mist, but Taguchi ducks and Despy takes the brunt of it. Enziguri, another dodon, and Taguchi wins it with a leverage pin.
Suzuki-Gun def Super 69
Somehow, I’m slowly starting to become a fan of the champs. There’s just something comforting and cozy to me about the monotony of Despy and Kanemaru’s matches. It’s just solid, consistent heel work that makes babyface victories like this feel so satisfying.
Taguchi and ACH have always been fun together, but they’re really starting to feel like a cohesive unit in this tournament. I would love for NJPW to sign ACH to more of a full time deal so Super 69 could become a true staple of the junior tag division.
