9. Carmella

A lot has transpired since Carmella dropped the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam. She’s now a babyface, teaming up with R-Truth, and has a completely new hair color. But what’s stayed the same is Mella’s ability to be must-see. Carmella acts, talks, and walks like a superstar, and it seems like everything she touches turns to gold.

The current pairing of Carmella and Truth couldn’t be working better, and Carmella’s rise to stardom in 2018 is an example of WWE developing a homegrown talent over the years. Carmella first joined the main roster as the last pick in the 2016 WWE Draft, and she eventually became the first woman to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. Even though it came at the expense of Asuka, Carmella did become a worthy champion by the end of her reign, showing off much-improved in-ring work to go with her legit promo chops.

Carmella has almost no chance of winning the Evolution Battle Royal, but she could get quite the rub if she’s able to eliminate a legend like, say, Kelly Kelly.

8. Dana Brooke

There aren’t many wrestlers who can grab the audience’s attention in just seconds of action, but Dana Brooke can do exactly that with a few screams, handsprings, and feats of strength. Brooke is as well-rounded of an athlete as there is on the main roster, and it only seems like a matter of time before her hard work goes rewarded.

I can remember when Brooke was Charlotte Flair’s lackey and didn’t have much going for her as a weak link on Monday Night Raw. But whenever Brooke is on Raw now, she manages to shine, whether it’s in a dark match against Ronda Rousey, as a statistician (her previous gig), or as a wrestler. Brooke looked great in the Women’s Rumble earlier this year, so here’s to hoping she can stand out on a big stage again.
