WWE Smackdown Live Power Rankings: October 23rd, 2018
2. The Usos
This was a tough placement to make. The Usos could easily be placed at the number one rank with no issue. The Usos have had an impressive past two weeks. They have been able to knock off the WWE Champion AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan not once, but twice. The miscommunication between Bryan and Styles has proved to be their downfall. But that is still another mark in The Uso’s win column.
This had to be an emotional night for The Usos after the news that their cousin, Roman Reigns made on Monday. They gave him a sign of respect as Jimmy used Roman’s signature arm-cock before hitting the splash that ended the match.
The Usos have so much talent and are one of the top tag teams going right now if not in history. With their recent success, The Usos are certainly top contenders for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles.
1. Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio is back on Smackdown and takes the top of the power rankings this week. Mysterio looks like he is in the best shape he has been in years. He has shown he hasn’t lost a step in the ring and held his own on the microphone with one of the best on it in The Miz tonight. Mysterio went on to have a solid match with The Miz picking up the victory after hitting the 619.
I am so glad to see Rey Mysterio back in a WWE ring. He has been certainly missed. He already has two big wins under his belt with The Miz tonight and the United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in his return match last week. With his placement in the WWE World Cup, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rey walk out of Crown Jewel named the “Best In The World.”
With a career that has spanned nearly 30 years, Mysterio is a name that deserves that crown as well. Welcome back, Rey.
