WWE NXT: Johnny Gargano May Not Actually Be Aleister Black’s Attacker
One of the biggest stories in NXT seems to have been solved. As of October 24th episode, it seems that Johnny Gargano is the man behind the attack on Aleister Black. But I am not so convinced.
During an NXT Championship match announcement by William Regal, which we never received, by the way, all chaos broke loose. First, he was interrupted by Tommaso Ciampa showing total disrespect as usual.
They were soon joined by The Velveteen Dream and Lars Sullivan claiming their championship contenders. Dream and Sullivan would get into a physical exchange as Nikki Cross ran into the ring shouting at Ciampa and Regal that “he’s coming!”
Cut to backstage, Aleister Black is seen taking out the guards that were placed to keep him in order. Aleister stormed the ring swiftly taking out Lars Sullivan with a Black Mass Kick before he could enter the ring. Black corned Regal questioning him, “Where is he?” who said he didn’t know. Black turned around into a superkick by none other than Johnny Wrestling. Gargano would then grab a microphone to say, “I’m right here.”
NXT came to a close with the image of Johnny Gargano standing over Black. The crowd was stunned as it seemed Nikki’s secret was finally revealed. Johnny Gargano was the attacker. Although, things aren’t always the way that they seem. We have seen swerves in WWE storylines time after time. And I believe that we may have another swerve in front of us.
First off, I will explain why I think that Johnny Gargano attacked tonight. The last time that we saw Aleister Black in the same ring with Gargano was the night the triple threat match for the NXT Championship was planned for Brooklyn. That night ended with Black and Gargano being pulled apart before Regal’s announcement. The week before, Aleister laid out Gargano with a Black Mass Kick. Johnny simply wanted revenge.
Despite my speculation, I don’t have any doubt that Johnny Gargano could have been a part of the attack that sidelined Aleister. He was looking for revenge that he wasn’t able to get. Maybe he was just looking to have singles match with Tommaso one more time. It fits in perfectly, why would you question the obvious? Because I believe fingers should be pointed at someone else.
All of the eyes were instantly on a series of people. One of the most obvious choices being Johnny Gargano. He was seen leaving the scene of the crime after the attack among others. After watching all of the interrogations by Regal, Johnny is the only person that doesn’t straight up deny the attack turning the question back on Regal.
A later interrogation of Johnny’s wife, Candice LeRae, helped solidify that Johnny wasn’t the attacker by her account of the night. She claimed that they had been together at the time of the attack, and it is hard not to believe Candice. So with all that being said, let’s get a little wild and talk about who I think really attacked Aleister Black.
Over the past few weeks, we have seen a certain superstar declare that he is no longer just going to sit around and wait. A man who has been showing a more vicious and dominant side than we have seen in NXT. A man who was interrupted by Nikki Cross after his match as she forewarned about Aleister Black’s arrival. Who is this man? Kassius Ohno.

If the WWE were looking for the time to capitalize on Kassius Ohno it is at this very moment. Ohno has fought hard to get to where he is today but still is missing something. Turning Kassius heel and putting him in a feud with Aleister Black could be exactly Ohno needs to kickstart his career. That is why I believe that there was a little more to Nikki coming out after his match than we see. I believe that Kassius Ohno is the one who attacked Aleister Black.
This could be a very interesting switch. If Johnny Gargano did attack Aleister Black a few months ago. Kassius Ohno could have very well not been far behind. Or perhaps he was working alongside Gargano. This is all speculation, but perhaps I am not so crazy after all. What do you think?
