Kassius Ohno vs. Matt Riddle

The NXT writers planted the seeds for this match during one of the “Who attacked Aleister Black” investigation segments on the weekly show. During his cross-examination with NXT general manager William Regal and an unnamed investigator, Kassius Ohno lamented his current positioning on the NXT totem pole, claiming that Regal had forgotten about him and had moved on to a “new toy” (this is a criticism often levied against Vince McMahon when he puts new talent through “start/stop” pushes).

Since then, Ohno has constantly asked Regal to let him know when the latest indy import made his way to Full Sail University. It is presumed that the knockout artist is referring to recent signee Matt Riddle, whose introduction came with much fanfare due to his impressive track record across multiple independent promotions.

He is set to debut on tonight’s NXT — likely in an enhancement match — but it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Ohno showed up after the contest to begin the build to this match in earnest.

If these two battle at TakeOver WarGames, and that seems very likely, chances are that they would open the show. Which is perfect, as these two was ring styles that seem to mesh well together, so I have no doubt that Ohno and Riddle would produce an entertaining, fast-paced, hard-hitting encounter.
