Friends Rich Swann and Willie Mack kick off the show, after Willie decided last week that he’d want Swann to do the honor or christening his Impact career by being his first opponent.

If there’s one thing we know about wrestling, it’s that “friend” isn’t a sacred word, so let’s see how this turns out.

Mack can fly just as well and just as often as Swann does, and it’s impeccable how Impact nails these kinds of matches with aerialists and heavyweights. Willie Mack performed a running, vertical suplex. Yeah, you read that exactly right.

Then, he goes COAST TO COAST on Swann! Mack is an unbelievable talent; look at the height this guy gets and the agility he’s got for a guy his size. Impact has an eye for performers like this.

Swann finally gets some good offense with a series of tough kicks and a few flips, and he gets a near-fall on Mack, while the crowd chants, “this is Impact!” Yeah, guys, this is really Impact! This is a textbook, signature Impact match.

I’m calling it right now – if Mack wins and gets the momentum… who am I kidding? Even if he loses, I bet Willie Mack and Brian Cage will meet in an Impact ring one day, and it will be a sight to see.

Mack lands a stunner, and just in time to break the three-count, Swann gets his foot on the ropes. Swann is dead weight, and Willie is heading for the tope rope for a frog splash, but Swann rolls out of the way. Swann hits a cutter for a pin, but Mack kicks out.

Swann lands a phoenix splash for the. Holy crap, this was a match. This felt like watching a tennis match – my eyes were darting back and forth so fast. Now, let’s see how much longer this friendship lasts…
