WWE SmackDown Predictions: Shane Lays Down Gauntlet for Survivor Series

1. Shane McMahon issues a challenge for Survivor Series.
If you’re one of the people who said anywhere on social media, “oh, of course a McMahon would be crowned Best In The World,”: firstly, yeah, you’re probably right, and secondly, you have to know that in that win, there was a lot more meaning then just “I’m the best in the world.”
Think back again to last week when Shane McMahon pulled aside Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, The Miz, and Randy Orton, and explained to them how big of a deal it would be for a member of the SmackDown roster to come away with that win, even going so far as to threaten to fire whoever made it to the finals and couldn’t get the job done.
There’s obviously a lot going on here in terms of building towards Survivor Series and everyone’s favorite match (cough cough), Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown. This isn’t a Raw predictions article, but rest assured that Raw GM Baron Corbin, or even Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon will have some shade to throw about Shane’s win on Monday.
That sets up a Shane McMahon appearance to kick off SmackDown perfectly. Shane McMahon will appear to address his surprising win in the “World” Cup Tournament, and he’ll explain why it was so important that SmackDown walked away with that win.
Shane will tell us that it was never about him being the best in the world, and there should be bonus points if he reacts to the crowds chants of “CM Punk” or “Jericho”. What it’s really about SmackDown Live being the best in the world, and if Corbin or Stephanie want to look down on him for having pride in his brand (they totally will), then so be it.
Expect Shane McMahon to really hype the Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown match at Survivor Series, and expect Shane to start recruiting for Team SmackDown right away.
