2. Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe will be recruited to Team SmackDown.
On the outside looking in, Daniel Bryan and Samoa Joe have very little in common, if anything really. Bryan has been on a campaign for redemption ever since he returned to the active WWE roster following a very long and arduous journey to be medically cleared to compete.
Samoa Joe on the other hand just finished a program with AJ Styles that featured him stalking and terrifying AJ Style’s wife and children in an attempt to eat away at the Champion’s psyche.
See? Not too much, huh?
The one thing these two men do share, of course, are their recent losses to AJ Styles for his WWE Championship. After Daniel Bryan’s loss to Styles last week on SmackDown, Joe returned from injury to attack both Bryan and Styles, all while cementing his place in Bryan’s stead in the championship match at Crown Jewel, which he went on to lose.
Both of these men are going to be feeling a little bit jaded this Tuesday, and my money’s on the fact that it’ll be mostly on Bryan. Bryan will be out in the ring to address that he knows he should feel defeated and a fair bit lost now that he has to rebuild again after the loss, but the prospect of Survivor Series and being able to represent Team SmackDown will further allow him to prove he still belongs in championship contention.
Faster than you can say “Coquina Cluth”, Samoa Joe will be out and ready to argue that if anyone’s getting called up to Team SmackDown, or if anyone deserves to be WWE Champion, it should be him. There’s a little scuffle in the ring; hey, GM Paige may even come out to the ring and book the two in a match that night, but I think ultimately, Shane McMahon’s going to come out and announce that he’d rather both those men save that fire to face Team Raw at Survivor Series.
