WWE: Why Tamina and Nia Jax Will Dominate Women’s Tag Division
The WWE Universe has been waiting for the WWE to announce the women’s tag team division, and they continue to tease the division by creating alliances between superstars. The latest pairing is between Nia Jax and Tamina.
Over the past few months, women’s tag team action has become a more prominent part of weekly programming. WWE has brought in teams like The Riott Squad and The IIconics that have shown great chemistry. They also aligned Sasha Banks and Bayley as a true team has helped fuel the demand from fans to introduce the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
The fans were expecting to have the announcement at the Evolution pay-per-view. Unfortunately, the announcement never came, though the fans have been holding up signs handed out by the WWE demanding for the division. It looks like the tag team division could be a closer reality than we think. This past week on Raw, it seemed that a new alliance was formed.
After weeks of teasing a potential rivalry or alliance, Nia Jax turned heel to align herself with Tamina, who led the attack on Nia’s former ally, Ember Moon. Nia joined in on the attack and embraced with Tamina.
After the assault, cameras caught up with both for an exclusive interview. Nia Jax asked if the WWE Universe really thought she was going to go against her family. The alliance between the two proud, powerful Samoan women was confirmed. With an alliance between two of the strongest women on the roster, this spells trouble for the rest of the teams that have formed around them.

Whenever the time finally comes for the Women’s Tag Team Championships to finally come into existence, this should be the team that we see carry those titles first. Nia and Tamina working together as a heel team sends shivers up my spine. I can see Nia and Tamina going up against Sasha Banks and Bayley in the future to fight for the titles, representing Raw.
Survivor Series would be the perfect time for the WWE to have the titles be introduced. Pitting a team from Raw and SmackDown against each other to become the inaugural champions. However, currently, Nia is the number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship and the time to Survivor Series is dwindling down. Survivor Series may be out of the question, but aye, WrestleMania is “coming up”, right?
Nobody can tell when the women’s tag titles will be revealed. But at this point, they are close enough to have them be confirmed. If the WWE wants to have two inaugural champions that will instantly raise the status of the titles, Nia Jax and Tamina are the women to look at. They provide a true dominant threat to any two women that step in their way. If they get their hands on those titles, it will be nearly impossible to take them. Now, let’s just get those straps on them.
Compared to other teams that could compete for the new titles, Nia and Tamina stand out among the names. Having the family roots to go on, they have the chemistry to be a dominant tag team. It is hard to think of any team that could go against this alliance. Who do you think should be the inaugural champions?
