Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas Vs Rey Mysterio- US Championship

While there has been no indication on the part of the WWE that this match will be taking place at WrestleMania next year, looking at the current landscape of the SmackDown mid-card, it makes quite a lot of sense.

Mysterio recently made his return to the WWE, defeating Shinsuke Nakamura on his re-debut and then going on to reach the semi-finals of the first ever WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel.

Despite his age, Mysterio has proven that he has a lot to offer the WWE from an in-ring perspective, and he is also a proven draw when it comes to younger audience members.

Like a lot of returning legends, Mysterio’s last run with the company should be used to help get the stars of tomorrow over, and there are few stars who could benefit from a feud with him quite like former NXT Champion, Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas.

Almas has made quite the impact since coming up to the main roster, putting on several excellent encounters with the likes of AJ Styles, Rusev, and Daniel Bryan. Despite this, Almas has yet to have a feud he can really sink his teeth into and Mysterio could just present with such an opportunity.

While neither man currently holds the United States Title, there is speculation that Shinsuke Nakamura could leave the WWE in January, and while this seems highly unlikely, Rey Mysterio could be seen as a safe pair of hands to carry the belt through Mania.

Of course, Almas should come out on top of this match-up, especially given the fact that he is considered to be one of the stars of tomorrow for the company. Also, this match would pretty much guarantee to deliver from an in-ring perspective.
