AJ Styles Vs Finn Balor

As much as fans would love it to happen, it doesn’t seem too probable that AJ Styles will be walking into the Metlife Stadium with the WWE Championship around his waist come April.

The Phenomenal One has had an excellent run with the belt, but his days look to be numbered with the likes of The Miz and Daniel Bryan lurking in the shadows.

Instead, then, the WWE could book Styles in an inter-brand match-up with his old NJPW rival, Finn Balor. The two men had an excellent encounter back at TLC 2017 and fans have been desperate to see what else they could do if they were given a little more time and a proper build.

Simply put, once AJ drops the WWE Championship, there is no clear sense of direction for him on SmackDown, so putting him in a dream match of sorts at Mania could be the next best option.

Likewise, Balor has had no clear sense of direction for quite some time now and if anybody deserves a big chance to prove themselves at WrestleMania, it’s Finn Balor.

The two men could easily set up this encounter with some sort of exchange at Royal Rumble, and the WWE has a rich history between the two men to really help establish this as one of the must-see matches on the card.

Dean Ambrose Vs Seth Rollins: Intercontinental Championship

The wheels are already in motion for this encounter, with Dean Ambrose recently turning heel and taking out his former Shield team-mate on a recent episode of Raw.

Presumably, plans for this match were rushed forward when Roman Reigns made his unexpected departure from the company. Various reports were suggesting that this match was set to take place at this year’s WrestleMania, and it seems likely that that will still be the case.

The biggest issue facing the WWE is just how they are going to be able to keep these two men apart between now and then.

One option is to continuously book both men in multi-man match-ups. The Royal Rumble event will mean that both men can compete in the thirty-man main-event, and likewise, they could both be booked into the elimination chamber, with one of them being eliminated before the other gets a chance to get their hands on them.

In an ideal world, this match would be for the Universal Title, but given Brock Lesnar’s recent victory, it seems highly unlikely that that will be the case.

Instead, Rollins will probably carry the Intercontinental Title into the event, with the two men’s feud being elevated into the main-event while Lesnar is away from our screens with the top belt.
