Becky Lynch Vs Asuka: SmackDown Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch is the hottest star in the WWE right now, and the WWE would be foolish to have her drop the SmackDown Women’s Championship before next year’s WrestleMania rolls around.
The Lass-Kicker has taken her performances up to the next level during her recent feud with Charlotte Flair, and she has proven that she has what it takes to become the biggest female star in the company.
The problem that Lynch, and the WWE, are facing right now, is that outside of Charlotte, no-one on SmackDown has enough momentum to really challenge her.
Step forward, Asuka. The winner of the first ever female royal rumble match has not had much luck in 2018, and the company should seek to rectify that as they begin to advance towards the new year.
All hope is not yet lost for the former NXT Women’s Champion, and some effective booking against the likes of Naomi, Lana, and Tamina could help re-establish her as one of the most dangerous women on the SmackDown roster.
If the WWE can give Asuka momentum leading up to this, and the WWE Universe can buy into her rise back up the card, then a match with Becky Lynch at WrestleMania has all of the makings of a classic encounter.
While Lynch is an excellent champion, she will have held the belt for seven months this point, and having her drop the title to Asuka would make a lot of sense.
It would be one year too late, but Asuka could finally get her big moment at WrestleMania 35. Don’t hold your breath, though.
