PAC Has Potential to Become Independent Wrestling’s Latest Megastar

Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville has returned to the independent wrestling scene under his old ring name, PAC, and his future looks brighter than ever.

October 1st, 2017 was the last time that Neville stepped inside of a WWE ring. At a house show in Wyoming, he defeated Enzo Amore by Disqualification in a Cruiserweight Championship match; failing to win the title. Shortly afterwards, the King of the Cruiserweights would vanish.

Due to some creative differences with his company, Neville opted not to wrestle for WWE anymore. Instead, he chose to sit out the remainder of his contract until he was free to wrestle anywhere in the world officially as of August this year.

Now, the King is dead. Long live the King. That King’s name is PAC.

On October 2nd, 2018, an entire year (almost to the day) after his final WWE appearance, The King of the Cruiserweights entered a wrestling ring once more as PAC. This time, he re-debuted in front of the world in Dragon Gate in the promotion’s top heel group, Real Extreme Diffusion (R.E.D.). Not a bad re-introduction to the indie scene for the former Cruiserweight Champion.

Truth be told that if PAC plays his cards right, he could very well take the entire wrestling industry by storm.

If PAC were to do just that, he wouldn’t be the first former WWE mid-carder to blow up onto the indie scene and change the entire landscape of the business. The most recent example would be Cody Rhodes. The guy walked away from the biggest wrestling company on the planet, took a big bet on himself, and hit it big.

It’s been over two years since we saw Rhodes blow cosmic dust inside of a WWE ring, and since then, he’s done quite a lot to keep himself busy. He’s become a ROH World Champion, an NWA Champion. and ran his own self-promoted event All In with 11,263 fans in attendance. It would be an understatement to say Cody’s doing alright for himself nowadays.

There was once a time when WWE was considered the end all be all of the professional wrestling business and any wrestler willingly leaving the company would be considered career suicide, as if it could only go down from there. Cody’s success proves otherwise, and if PAC finds major success on the indies to a similar level, it could inspire more wrestlers in WWE to take their own bets on themselves if they don’t feel like they’re being booked to their own expectations.

It’s not impossible to think that PAC could achieve similar levels of success as Cody. He’s a talented individual, and he certainly has a look that would get over in any company. Not to mention that he was in demand from other promotions long before he was allowed to work elsewhere.

Just days after he was officially granted his release by WWE, Tama Tonga of Bullet Club infamy had teased possibly bringing The Man That Gravity Forgot into his special squad.

PAC’s only been on the indie scene a little over a month now, and he’s already been booked to appear at upcoming shows for RevPro, Defiant Wrestling, British Wrestling Revolution, Courage Wrestling, and perhaps even more as I’m typing this out. When he’s popping up all over the British wrestling scene like this, he’s bound to make a major ruckus somewhere.

As PAC is slowly taking over the British wrestling scene, he could be on a quiet path to taking over the entire wrestling scene. We’re not guaranteeing that PAC is going to end up being the British Cody Rhodes, but it’s not unlikely. Just keep your eyes peeled for what PAC has in store, and he could surprise us in no time.
