3. Naomi Will Be Named New Captain of Team SmackDown
Of course, the drama between Mandy and Sonya isn’t the only thing going sour for the women’s Team SmackDown. The team is still without a captain, as it’s looking more and more like Charlotte just really isn’t interested in the position.
I expect Charlotte to be a no-show of sorts again on Tuesday, and Paige will be backstage to announce that after multiple attempts to reach Charlotte, she has no other choice to find another option for this year’s team.
It’s obvious to note that Team SmackDown is comprised primarily of faces, so to find a solid captain won’t be too hard. However, I’m going with Naomi, who as a former SmackDown Women’s Champion and fan-favorite has just the right amount of hype and confidence to lead such a talented team.
However, I don’t expect Naomi to be happy with Charlotte not being on the team, and to be honest, I’m sure as hurt as Charlotte is, she definitely cares about Team SmackDown.
I say after Naomi’s named captain, Charlotte appears backstage to congratulate Naomi and tell her that she’s proud that Team SmackDown is being led by such a capable performer. Though Naomi is gracious, she won’t be afraid to call Charlotte out (in a friend-to-friend way of course) for her absence last week.
Naomi will tell Charlotte that while she understands that what Charlotte’s going though is hard, SmackDown needs her, the girls need her, heck, Naomi herself needs her. Naomi will be sure to tell Charlotte that as a peer, Naomi knows Charlotte has what it take to stand with Team SmackDown, but she understands if she doesn’t agree.
Wise words from a trusted ally may finally be what it takes to get Charlotte to see the light and accept a place representing SmackDown Live under Naomi’s leadership.
