They Both Started Out As Underdogs

The similarities between Miz and Daniel Bryan are a big reason why this matchup has the possibility to be so special. Both Daniel Bryan and The Miz were considered to be two stars that would never make it as main-eventers in WWE period, nevermind the main event of WrestleMania.

Miz was marketed a loudmouth, annoying reality television star, and Daniel Bryan was the extremely undersized “indy darling”. As we all know, the prototypical WWE “superstar” is somewhere in the ballpark of 6’7”, 320lbs, and carved out of stone.

Right off the bat fate was working against both of them. Both of these stars have something to prove to themselves this time around as well. Miz has to prove to himself that he IS worthy of a WWE Championship match at another WrestleMania.

It is well known that the main event of WrestleMania 27 between The Miz and John Cena was used to set up Cena vs Rock at WrestleMania 28. Daniel Bryan on the other hand has to prove to himself that he can still perform at the highest level in this business. He has to prove to himself that all the tests, rehab, hospital visits, and training was worth it, and that he can still captivate audiences like nobody before him.
